Why do we need yet another log analysis program, with so many already available?

All log analyzers we're aware of turn out to somehow reflect views of their developers. Each development team prioritizes its goals according to their own perception of what "important data" is. So if your point of view does match that of the particular log analyzer development team, you get the product you need. If not, you are out of luck. We encountered enormous difficulties retrieving data we thought should be readily available using several tools we tried, and finally ended up writing our own one.
